I am generally interested in how environmental and social contexts influence behavioral decision-making at the individual- and group-levels. I often develop video recording systems that facilitate the use of automated tracking pipelines, computer vision, and machine learning. I like to tinker with things.

I'm broadly interested in understanding the drivers of context dependency in mutualistic interactions. My research focuses on cleaning mutualisms, a common interaction on coral reefs wherein a cleaner shrimp/fish removes ectoparasites or tissue from a larger client fish. Specifically, my research tests predictions of Biological Market Theory to examine how variation in cleaner density affects the behavior of cleaners and clients. 

I am interested in using basic physical rules to investigate convergent evolution in animal feeding, locomotion, and other interactions with their environment. My current work focuses on exploring fundamental muscle architectures that affect energy storage, force generation, and power output. When not I'm not thinking of animals I'm out windsurfing, sailing, and rock climbing.

Victoria graduated with her PhD from Indiana University School of Medicine in the program of Anatomy, Cell Biology, and Physiology (Education Track). Her teaching experience includes graduate and medical school courses in human cadaveric anatomy, histology, neuroanatomy, developmental anatomy, and undergraduate-level Human Anatomy & Physiology. As an anatomy education researcher, her current work includes investigating international perspectives of anatomy outreach through a structured Delphi process, alongside scholarly work informed by the needs of Brown University’s anatomy curricula.

I am a biochemist investigating interorgan communication between the heart and kidney with age, focusing on how endocrine dysfunction induces renal fibrosis, using Drosophila and animal models to develop impactful solutions that promote healthy aging.

My research focuses on biomechanics and functional morphology. My dissertation work focused on long bone loading, material properties, and locomotor biomechanics in sloths and primates. I have expertise in 3D kinematics, inverse dynamics, strain gauge instrumentation, comparative anatomical dissections, micro‑CT analysis, and cadaveric tissue material testing. Here, I will be working with Dr. Jessica Tingle on snake locomotion and morphology.
